Appalachian Ingenuity Series: Paper Marbling with Toni Ogden
July 18 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Paper marbling is the centuries-old art of creating colorful, swirling patterns by floating paints on the surface of water and carefully transferring those designs onto paper. Because every print is created by hand, no two pieces are ever exactly alike, making each work a one-of-a-kind expression of creativity. Join us in getting creative and leave with a piece of art as unique as you are.
This workshop is FREE and all materials will be provided.
Saturday, July 18
12 PM – 2 PM
North House Museum
Workshop will last approximately 90 minutes.
This workshop is also part of the Greenbrier Historical Society’s Garden Initiative, a year-long program led by AmeriCorps Environmental Historian Jess Levine.
Rooted in experiential learning, the initiative encourages people to discover the remarkable biodiversity of the Greenbrier Valley and Appalachian region and to celebrate it by incorporating native plants into their own landscapes. As part of this effort, the gardens surrounding the North House Museum are being reimagined with native plantings, including species that have historically served as medicinal and culinary herbs.
Community participation is at the heart of the initiative. Through programs like the Appalachian Ingenuity Series, we celebrate the Appalachian values of creativity, resourcefulness, self-sufficiency, and shared knowledge while creating opportunities for hands-on learning and connection.
Join us for an afternoon of creativity, connection, and hands-on learning as we celebrate the ingenuity and traditions that have shaped our region. We also invite you to stop by the North House Museum Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and discover the many programs, exhibits, and initiatives bringing local history to life.
